The four Mega Charizard X ex cards in Inferno X
M2 released in Japan on 26 September 2025. Its 80-card main list expands to 116 with AR, SR, SAR and MUR entries. Mega Charizard X ex runs from a base RR to the final MUR, creating a clear rarity ladder.
| Number | Rarity | Collector role |
|---|---|---|
| 013/080 | RR | Accessible base printing |
| 094/080 | SR | Full-art upgrade |
| 110/080 | SAR | Narrative-art chase |
| 116/080 | MUR | Single top gold treatment |

02
The most common X-versus-Y mistake
Japanese cards from the 2014–2016 XY era can share the MリザードンEX name without an English-style X or Y in the headline. Type, attack, number and illustration need to be read together.
Some marketplace titles describe CP6 091/087 as X, while card databases place its attack and printing lineage with Y. Never use a seller title as the only identifier on a high-value card.
- X-line clues often include Wild Blaze and the Dragon-type lineage.
- Y-line clues often include Crimson Dive and the Fire-type lineage.
- Documented exceptions exist, so verify the exact official number.

03
M2a adds a separate MA printing
MEGA Dream ex (M2a) later added Mega Charizard X ex 223/193 in the MA rarity. It belongs to another product and should not be blended with M2 110/080 SAR or 116/080 MUR under one generic listing.
A reliable collection filename uses set, number and rarity—M2-116-MUR—rather than only the character name.

04
Compare market tiers, not a magic number
Public August 2026 PSA 10 asks show a clear ladder between the M2 MUR, SAR and RR and the M2a MA, but a graded ask is not a raw sale and none of them defines a sealed box’s value.
The useful comparison is the same card, same grade and same market over recent completed sales. Raw cards also require condition and return risk to be considered.
| Dimension | Keep constant |
|---|---|
| Card | Same set, number and rarity |
| Condition | Raw with raw; PSA 10 with PSA 10 |
| Price type | Sale with sale; do not substitute the highest ask |
| Date / currency | State the date, exchange rate and platform |

05
Review all 116 cards before choosing a sealed M2 box
Cardstop’s complete checklist can filter AR, SR, SAR and MUR while retaining Japanese and English names. Use it before returning to the price page to compare shrink and no-shrink group-buy references.
A sealed box is random and does not guarantee card 110 or 116.
